Stavros is located on the Akrotiri Peninsula, 16km from Chania and only a short drive from Chania airport. It has a sheltered bay with a lovely backdrop of a mountain ‘Vardies’ which was featured in the film ‘Zorba the Greek’. Stravos was once a small fishing village, but now hosts a variety of small hotels and tavernas. The semi-circular lagoon has golden sand, and the turquoise water is shallow, making it a great place for families and children. There are several tavernas located just behind the clean beach and sunbeds to provide shade. With its protected beach and fabulous views of the mountain, this is the perfect place to escape and relax, minutes from the airport.
