Chania

Chania is located on the western side of Crete and is the capital of the region. Chania (also spelt and pronounced Hania) is a beautiful city which has an Old Town featuring a Venetian harbour. The northern side of the city is more popular with luxurious tourist resorts and organised beaches. While the southern side, remains more traditional and secluded with small, seaside villages. The highlight of Chania is the Old Town’s maze-like alleys with beautiful, venetian architecture, fountains and elaborate churches. You will discover tavernas and cafes lining the port and boutique shops selling hand crafted items in the back alleys. Chania is the place to wander the streets, visit museums, sample the Cretan cuisine and admire the historic architecture.
